I Learned Something New!!!

So I love to learn new things, especially crafts!!! I have got my feet wet in many different corners of the crafting world, I feel obligated to admit that I have mastered none! Anyways, I have never really tried much crochet or knitting! A friend of mine (who happens to experienced in the trade) called me to go with her this weekend to a small yarn shop in Hardy! They had some new yard with a beautiful scarf pattern!

Here are some of the shop displays and a peak at the one that I started!!! I will definitely give you all an update when I finish it!!!

Here is a tutorial and some more information!

Francine Rivers - My Favorite Author!!!

I have to share this Amazing writer with you!!! Her first Christian book was Redeeming Love and it was one of the first Christian Fiction Books I read, I mostly enjoyed reading devotionals and life application books; and then I was introduced to Francine Rivers! Redeeming Love was so inspirational and moving, it had me laughing,(not the LOL kind, Actually laughing out loud,) it most definitely had me in tears in the first chapter and nearly every chapter following! I read it faster than I have ever read another book! Needless to say, just after one of her books I was hooked!  I happened upon Leota's Garden FREE for the kindle, while i don't have a kindle; nothing can replace the feel of a real -pages torn, leave ink on your fingers, fresh smell every turn of the page, pass/trade around, look at my collection - kinda book, anyways, i DO have the kindle app on my iphone.  So I downloaded it and read the first 1-2 chapters on my 3in iphone screen and despite the severe headache I knew it was a "must read" book! So i got online and ordered it (i live in the boonies so this is ALWAYS quicker than a "run" to the bookstore!) Well, i just couldn't wait, so i read the entire book on my iphone, not good for the eyes, but it was definitely worth it!  In the mean time i was in a used book store and ran across two book that were in a series and they were written by Francine Rivers, my new favorite author! Now they didn't look particularly interesting to me but -this is the best part - they were ONLY $1, yes just ONE DOLLAR, so of course i bought them! Now i had a list of "i wanna read this" waiting on me so i just sat these on my shelf at home, waiting to run across the 3rd book for a dollar and trying to get past the incredibly boring cover on the first two books (its true what they say, never judge a book by its cover.)  Well sure enough, in a conversation with another Francine Rivers fan, she compared the Mark of the Lion series to Redeeming Love and exclaimed how great it was!  So, I was sold, i went home and opened A Voice in the Wind and never put it down, I finished it in the middle of a work day and was beside myself because i did not have book #2 with me and had to wait till i got home to continue in the story that I had become a part of! An Echo in the Darkness was the same way, i never put it down, i hurried to order the third book in the series because i was sure the second would leave me hanging the same as the first.  Then, i couldn't believe it, the story ended, NOT just the book, but the story ended and I still had one book left!  Now I was almost heart broken, i couldn't imagine the story without the characters I had met and got to know so well, but their storyline was over; however, there was a character from the first book that was never mentioned in the the second and i could only guess that the third book  had to be the rest of his story!  In the meantime a friend of mine borrowed the whole series and gave them back telling me that the third definitely should not be skipped and was just as inspirational as the first two!  Man was she right, As Sure as the Dawn made me way more emotional than the first two and again left my soul praising God!  It amazes me how much study Mrs. Rivers puts in her work, I was constantly googling events and words that sparked my interest and it stunned me how true to history the fictional series was!  It is absolutely amazing the way God uses unlikely means, such as fictional novels, to speak to us and bring us to our knees to praise and worship him!

Here are most of the books I have read by Francine Rivers to date and I would recommend every one of them!
